Ashfield Healthcare are proud to be working with our client to recruit a Clinical Specialist covering Scotland. The role is to offer clinical support that will enhance regional sales and development plans by utilising clinical knowledge and expertise to drive activities and the development of local KOLs. This is covering a specific portfolio of advanced wound care dressings, compression bandages and hosiery and anti-embolism stockings in both the acute and community markets.

Since entering the market in 2002 our client has achieved its objective of becoming a major contributor to the UK wound healing community, and are now number 4 in the current market place. They offer a complete range of wounds management dressing and bandages.

The companies healing solutions are designed to encourage better wound-healing and improve quality of life patients whilst maintaining cost effectiveness and acknowledging budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Development and delivery of regional sales plans 
• Full integration in regional activities, involved in developing added value clinical training and support activities and delivering such as agreed with RSM, HPM and local teams. To   include;
• Study events, part day, full day or evening. 
• Clinical and service led audits and evaluations
• Wound Care Formulary implementation plans
• Merchandising via appropriate education of the products that are included on Wound care Formularies both in the community and acute.
• To understand and be aware of competitor products, company activity and to share this information.
• To deliver customer group training and education 
• To support and deliver company sales team training
• To interface with Marketing and Training to help develop on-going clinical and educational plans 
• To maintain current reporting requirements i.e. Business plans, Sales, CS activity report.
• To exhibit high levels of knowledge relating to the company and competitor products and maintain excellent clinical and research ability.
• To engage with and recruit new KOLs and advocates for the products at a regional level and develop via the ladder of adoption and/or in new product areas.
• To recommend participants (KOLs) to benefit from company funded development opportunities e.g., conference delegate sponsorship 

Marketing and training support
• To assist in the recruitment of clinical centres to participate in clinical evaluations (combining the needs of marketing, KOLs and the clinical experience of the centres)
• To participate in the initiation and follow-up of evaluations through regular centre visits to monitor progress 
• To develop evaluation tools
• To collect, analyse and produce results
• To deliver appropriate support and evidence based programmes at national meetings
• To work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure all promotional material and marketing strategies are clinically credible 
• To work effectively with the Training Department to enhance our current clinical educational programmes for both internal and external customers.

Essential Skills 
• Degree level Healthcare Professional with RGN/RN current qualification or Degree qualification
• Proven track record in a Wound Care Clinical environment
• Significant Clinical and operational experience of the NHS
• Experience within a commercial Wound Care environment
• A demonstrable level of commercial acumen
• Effective time management skills/self-directing
• Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Strong presentation skills
• Highly ethical, credible and professional
• Adaptable and flexible aptitude to working within both a Clinical and commercial environment
• Planning and organising skills (experience of big events)
