Job title: Global Client Relations Vice President 
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Reporting to: Global Client Relations President 
Location: Home based, must be within Europe. Travel is required depending on the client accounts allocated.    
Direct reports:  Account Manager (GCR)
Indirect reports: Project Director (GCR) and Global Account Specialist (Analysis)

Core Responsibilities:

To lead large global accounts and drive global business development in target clients, becoming a trusted partner and coordinating consistent delivery of centrally driven projects across all geographies for those clients.  

To manage the POD team within the GCR structure, through a combination of leadership and indirect management of a Project Director (who may have their own accounts whilst also supporting the VP with the VP’s accounts) and the direct management of an Account Manager who will work with the VP and PD within the POD.   

Job Role: 

  • Lead and co-ordinate business development activities within the assigned target client accounts, this includes winning new business and follow up waves of existing work, and expanding STEM business across new services and new geographies (breadth and depth).
  • The VP will be accountable for the fee revenue target within their prioritised accounts and be responsible for the delivery through their POD team
  • As the POD leader, the VP has a critical role in leading a team that must work together seamlessly to manage workload according to client need and STEM priorities.  The VP has to ensure operational excellence within their POD and the effective use of POD resources to manage client demand and ensure high quality delivery.
  • The VP must manage the Account Manager to ensure the Account Manager’s performance is as required, and that the Account Manager has the opportunity to develop their capability.  Operating on centrally driven client accounts that are globally implemented; the role requires business development, account management and project delivery of centrally owned client accounts. 
  • The VP must develop strong relationships with key stakeholders within the target accounts, ensuring that a partnership is built that facilitates maintenance and growth of target accounts. Key external stakeholders range from senior functional heads such within sales, marketing, SFE, medical excellence, global brand leads, global medical leaders through to CEOs
  • Operational delivery includes, but is not limited to:
o Working with the client to determine the project scope and initial project brief
o Internal alignment and communication across STEM teams to ensure the projects are delivered appropriately
o Collaborating with the POD team to ensure consistent delivery of this brief in all geographies
o Overseeing the project operations as it progresses, dealing with any issues and managing STEM stakeholders and client stakeholders to ensure any issues are resolved quickly and effectively
o Work with the Analyst team on the story and insights that the data is providing.  
o Presenting results back to the client and action planning for next stages/waves/follow up actions.  
  • The role is a senior leadership role within STEM.  VPs will lead the POD in GCR and will lead cross-functional project teams that include local and central colleagues.  
  • When working with POD colleagues and the Analysts, the VP should act as a coach, whilst trying wherever possible to provide development opportunities and opportunities to gain client exposure.

Experience and knowledge required:

  • Detailed knowledge of the pharmaceutical market.  This person needs to have an existing network of influential/senior pharma executives, be aware of what is happening in the pharma markets and up to speed with client developments, key launches, people changes, mergers and acquisitions etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of STEM’s services and how they can bring benefit to our clients/prospective clients. 
  • Successful experience dealing with senior level stakeholders.
  • Successful experience developing business on a consistent basis. 
  • Successful experience managing accounts/client relationships to deliver to client expectations.
