Role Summary:

Working to a business plan, the primary purpose is to maximize sales and profit of our clients portfolio of products, with a primary focus on a recently launched pain management brand. This role will involve accessing and speaking to key decision makers within private practice, hospitals and clinics to raise awareness and increase usage of the portfolio of brands.

This position requires a proactive approach to seek out new opportunities within the private sector and liaise regularly with key internal stakeholders to further develop strategic approaches to maximise sales within these accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work with the Sales Director to build and develop account plans within defined territories within the private healthcare sector, including private hospitals and clinics.
  • To drive early adoption and growth of a new to market, pain management product using new and existing relationships.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the therapy area and the competitors within the pain management market.
  • Continuously assess the territory and market to identify new business opportunities with existing customers and opportunities to add to the customer base.
  • To constantly develop selling skills through ongoing development program and call coaching with Sales Manager and Digital Development Team.          
  • To develop and implement a territory business plan in conjunction with your line manager.
  • To follow Company strategy, using approved marketing materials when dealing with customers.
  • To liaise with colleagues to ensure cross-business opportunities within the territory are maximised.
  • To use relevant business for expenses, sponsorship and events in line with relevant SOP's and Compliance Procedures.

Essential Skills


  •  Degree in life sciences, business management or equivalent qualification Licenses/Certification

  • Proven sales experience within the pharmaceutical/medical devices sales sector.    
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the challenges within the NHS.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • To build rapport quickly and then capitalise upon the forming relationship is an essential requirement for this role, coupled with the desire to deliver on behalf of Ashfield and the Client
  • History of proven success in remote working
  • Digitally competent and empowered
  • Ability to navigate quickly and effectively around technology and content
  • Ability to break down barriers with use of technology, embracing upgrades
  • Demonstrated ability to:
