Job purpose:

Manage, develop, and execute the UK/EU Marketing activity while aligning with the overall global marketing direction. The European Marketing Manager will be responsible for key global marketing tasks in addition to their function at the UK/EU level.

Location and travel:

UK based- hybrid. The expectation is that the candidate will work from one of the Ashfield Engage office locations at least once a week, or when the team is present to foster a cross-collaborative work environment. The candidate will be expected to attend various leadership team meetings in person at times. There may be limited international travel (US/CA).


Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement the EU Marketing plan based on the agreed global marketing plan and regional business goals
  • Create powerful global lead and EU customized campaigns from beginning to end including strategic planning, goal setting, budgeting, target management, follow up, and impact reporting
  • Based on the global marketing strategy, develop targeted content to support the growth of the UK/EU region
  • Align with the EU leadership team/Business Development and Global Marketing to produce targeted campaigns that drive demand in our key accounts – making a genuine impact on influencers, decision makers, budget holders, and stakeholders.
  • Alongside the Head of Global Marketing manage the budget allocation of the UK/EU marketing spend
  • Work with the Global Marketing team to leverage key external agencies/freelancers for support in executing the marketing tactics
  • Work with the Digital Manager to track, analyze, and share results, as well as using them to constantly optimize brand awareness, familiarity, performance, and results
  • Support the Head of Ashfield Engage Internal comms through copy and creative for ad hoc campaigns
  • Collaborate with Inizio Marketing/Comms teams for any specific campaign deliverables
  • Alongside the Global Head of Marketing, liaise with PR agency to identify UK/EU specific PR opportunities
  • Lead the implementation of the brand strategy and guidelines across the UK/EU region
  • Work with the larger marketing team to identify events/conferences and negotiate visibility and involvement. Work on key marketing messages for the event. Develop and execute booth/virtual content for the event while working with external agencies if needed.
  • Alongside the Global Head of Marketing, coordinate the implementation of the EVP across all marketing material
  • Support Global Head of Marketing with ad hoc marketing/communication specific projects
  • Recognise, exemplify, and adhere to Ashfield Engage’s values

Job Holder Specification:

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a coordinator in marketing, communications, public relations or general management. A marketing qualification and experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous.
  • Must have “go getter/self-starter” attitude. The candidate should be able to identify key needs for the department and take initiative to get them executed
  • Applicants will need to have experience in supporting the business development team and driving multichannel communication programs that are effective in engaging a diverse group of stakeholders – both internal and external.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Candidates should have:
